A retired schoolteacher, Pranesh Sarkar was born and raised in Badkulla, Nadia, West Bengal. Some of his major books of poetry are Andho Karotir Rekha, Amar Aagun Ekhono Nebheni, and Sararaat Aalor Chitkar. His books of literary essays include Je Mon Kabita Lekhe, Rabindranath, Joe Winter Ebong Anubad and Rabindra Kabitar Bhubanayane Joe Winter.
