Submission Guidelines for Poetry India

If you are interested in Poetry India: Contemporary Poetry in English and Translation, curated by Prof. Angshuman Kar, please check the guidelines:

Poetry India welcomes poems written in Indian languages (in English and in English translation) and short essays in English (within 1500 words) on Indian poetry.

No author-bio, please. We will ask for it if we pick your work for publication.

Please make sure you submit your entries to poetryindia23@gmail.com.

Send us your work as .doc/.docx file attachment. We regret that right now, we are unable to pay our contributors; nevertheless, we hope that this will not hold you back from submitting your work.

Long poems are acceptable; however, the shorter they are, the better. Don’t submit more than six poems or fewer than four poems. The poems should be sent together as a single file attachment in Times New Roman 12-point font size.

In-text citations and works cited lists should be in accordance with the 9th edition of the MLA Handbook. In the case of an electronic source, the stable URL must be cited.

Copyright reverts to the author after the first publication by Poetry India. But the journal reserves the right to republish the work in its future issues, redistribute it, archive it, and nominate it for awards, which may lead to publication in anthologies, etc. If the author wants to republish his/her work, Poetry India should be acknowledged as its first publisher.

Detection of plagiarism will lead to immediate rejection.

If you want to submit your artwork for our consideration, you are welcome.
